What is counselling?
Counselling is an umbrella term for the talking therapies. Different therapists use different approaches, but the most important factor is that you feel you can trust and relate to your counsellor, therefore confidentiality is of utmost importance.
The aim of Humanistic counselling is to create a relationship that is both restorative and healing. One which enables us to develop self-awareness and explore issues which may be influenced by our past or present experiences. This ultimately allows us to live in a way which is more satisfying and resourceful. It also allows for an increased sense of well-being and, in the Humanistic relationship, the client is able to make choices without the pressure of advice.
Counselling takes place on a weekly basis, at the same mutually agreed time. The session lasts for 50 minutes and are arranged in advance and are for you to bring whatever you chose. I also provide online sessions.
